A study conducted by the Journal of Urology found that the average penis size of 80 men was 3.5 inches when flaccid and 5.1 inches when erect. However, Journal of Sexual Medicine that looked at more than 1,600 men’s average penis size, researchers found that when erect, the average size penis is roughly about 5.5” long, ranging from 1.6 to 10.2” long.

It’s safe to say if you have a penis size in the 5.1 to 5.5 inch range you are considered to have an average penis size.

Does Penis Size Vary with Race?

This a common question that is plagued with stereotypes. It is thought that black people have oversized penis while those of Asian decent have smaller penises. I have looked far and wide, but have not been able to find who or what started these stereotypes. So, are they true?

In fact, no! A 2007 study reported that there is no scientific background to support the alleged ‘oversized’ penis in black people or any other particular fluctuation in different races. Even though public perception might believe otherwise, don’t feel like you are limited by your particular race.

Penis size and growth happens in early teenage years when testosterone levels start to increase. When males reach the age of 22-25 testosterone no longer affects penis growth and you are stuck with what you’ve got.
Males frequently under estimate the size of the penis for a few reasons including the view at which you look at your penis, repeated observation, watching pornos with adult actors that have large penises, or fatty growth at the base of the penis.

Are There Ways to Increase Penis Size?

This is a question ALL men want to know. Penis size has a significant impact on personal confidence and if you’re not happy with your third members size you can experience other negative psychological issues such as depression or anxiety during or before sexual intercourse.

It is safe to say that without surgical enlargement permanent penis size enlargement is not realistic. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of pills, pumps, creams and more that promise to increase penis size. Sadly, I consider them all ‘snake oil’ and you should not waste time, money and hope trying to find a solution. These companies use fear and perceived perception to sell what the scientific community considers ineffective.

Personally, I have tried a few different pills that were ineffective over a 6-month dose plan. I also bought a penis pump and while it does increase blood flow and girth of the penis for a short time it returns to normal just a few minutes after the device has been removed.
